My Jealousy Poem!!!

September6

JEALOUSY!!!

Jealousy is bile green.

The taste of bitter grapefruit,

And smells like rotten vegetables.

It looks like hate, bursting out of somebody’s heart,

And sounds like the sly hiss of a snake,

Jealousy feels like fire inside me.

Jealousy is green

My Description of a Storm!!!

September6

A STORM!!!

It is late at night, and you are in bed. You will know when a storm is coming. You can hear a crack of thunder and see a thrashing bolt of lightning. You can hear the worried whimpers of small children and feel your heart beating faster and faster. The clouds are lighting up and the sound gets louder. It begins to start pouring rain as hail falls to the ground. You can hear the trees scratching on your bedroom window. The rain is thundering down like horses hooves. Darkness is creeping in behind the curtains like a hunting tiger. But suddenly you are saved by the moon, emerging silently from the gray clouds. Everything stops and you slowly fall asleep.

My Book Review on “The City of Ember”!!!

August24

The City Of Ember!!!

The City of Ember is a very engaging and enjoyable book about a very dark and gloomy city called Ember. The city of Ember was constructed, hundreds of years before this story takes place, by builders. They built it especially to keep everything needed for humans to survive. It worked, but now almost all of the storerooms are out of food and people are becoming very worried, but two very bright children, Lina and Doon discover pieces of an old document and they begin to wonder if there is a way out of Ember.

The main Characters in this book are Lina Mayfleet, Poppy Mayfleet (Lina’s sister) and Doon Harrow. Lina has no parents but she has a very kind Granny and her sister. Tragically her Granny dies from the same sickness that killed her mother and father. Further on in the book you will discover that the “beloved mayor” of Ember is actually a lying, mean scoundrel and is stealing food from the whole city, using his secret room and his assistant, Looper. The book is so exciting you’ll never want to put it down as Lina and Doon decipher the secret document.

The City of Ember is probably one of my favourite books because it was just such a thrilling and interesting read. The Characters in the book were greatly described. One thing I learned from this book was to never give up and keep trying when things get hard.

The city of Ember is such a fantastic and suspenseful book with great imagination in it. I thoroughly enjoyed it!!!!
